Applier vs Simplify

By the Applier team · Updated October 15, 2026 · Applier is our product

Simplify describes itself as a personal AI talent agent for job seekers. It combines job matching, resume tailoring, the Simplify Copilot browser extension that autofills applications, a job tracker, and an Autopilot feature that submits applications for you.

The short answer

  • Choose Applier if you want applications submitted for you on employers' own sites, with a cover letter for each role and introductions emailed to the hiring team from your Gmail.
  • Choose Simplify if you want a free browser extension that autofills applications while you review each page and click Submit yourself, or its Autopilot feature in Simplify+.

Why pick Applier over Simplify

  • Applier isn't tied to a list of supported systems: it submits on the employer's own application form, whichever applicant tracking system the employer uses. Simplify's Autopilot submits only on the application systems it supports, and with Copilot you click Submit.
  • Applier emails 1 to 3 people on the hiring team per application from your own Gmail, then follows up 3 and 7 business days later. Simplify+ drafts outreach emails for you to review and send.
  • Every application gets a tailored resume and a new cover letter. Simplify's Autopilot writes a cover letter only when the application requires one; optional ones are up to you.
  • You choose: approve each application before it's sent in Review mode, or let Hybrid or Auto apply on their own. Simplify's Autopilot has no review step before submitting.
  • Applier runs on its own servers, so there is nothing to install and it keeps applying while your computer is off. Simplify's website doesn't say where Autopilot runs, and Copilot is a browser extension.

It applies on the employer's own site, whatever it uses

  • Applier applies on the employer's own application form, whatever system the company uses: Workday, Greenhouse, Lever or its own careers page. It isn't tied to a list of supported systems.
  • It never signs in to your LinkedIn, Indeed or other job-board accounts. Applications go to the employer directly, not through the board.
  • There's no browser extension to install. Applier runs on its own servers and never needs access to your browser, so it keeps applying while your computer is off.

When Simplify may suit you better

  • Simplify Copilot is a free browser extension that autofills job applications in one click.
  • Simplify says its autofill works on 100,000+ company career sites, and that Copilot covers more application systems than Autopilot.
  • It includes a job tracker, AI job matching, a resume builder and networking tools that show your LinkedIn connections at companies.
  • With Copilot you see each page before you submit, and you can edit generated resumes, cover letters and answers first.

How Simplify works

Simplify starts from a profile you build and a default resume. The free Simplify Copilot Chrome extension autofills application forms on supported hiring sites, and you review the page and click Submit yourself. Simplify+ adds AI tools: resume tailoring, cover letter generation, answers to application questions, an AI Email feature that drafts outreach and follow-ups you can send from Gmail, and Autopilot. Autopilot opens the company's application, fills it in from your profile, and submits it for you on the application systems it supports, with no review step. Per Simplify's help center, Autopilot fails an application rather than submit an answer it isn't confident about.

How Applier works

Applier is an AI job application service. It finds open roles that match your profile, tailors your resume and cover letter to each one, submits the application on the employer's site, then emails the hiring manager from your Gmail. See how Applier works, including what still needs you.

New members can try Applier free for 7 days, and the first paid month is backed by an interview guarantee.

It also gives you an interview pack for each submitted application, an Inbox that labels employer email, Answers to check, and a daily email when something needs you. See every Applier feature.

What still needs you

  • Applier fills in answers you haven't given and lists them under Answers to check, so you can confirm or correct each one.
  • In Review mode, you approve each job before Applier applies. In Hybrid and Auto, Applier applies on its own.
  • Some applications can't be finished; these show as Failed in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Does Simplify apply to jobs for you?

Partly. Simplify's Copilot extension autofills applications, and you click Submit yourself. Its Autopilot feature, included with Simplify+, submits applications for you on the application systems it supports. Simplify's help center says Autopilot has no review step before it submits.

Does Simplify email hiring managers for you?

Simplify's website doesn't say it sends emails to hiring managers on its own. Simplify+ includes AI Email, which drafts outreach and follow-ups; with Gmail connected, you review and send them from Simplify. Applier emails people on the hiring team from your Gmail after each application, in the mode you choose.

What does Simplify do when it isn't sure of an answer?

Simplify's help center says Autopilot marks the application as failed rather than submit an answer it isn't confident in, and you can finish it yourself with Copilot. Applier fills in answers you haven't given and lists them under Answers to check.
