Applier vs LazyApply

By the Applier team · Updated October 15, 2026 · Applier is our product

LazyApply is an AI job search tool, delivered as a Chrome extension with a web dashboard, that says it applies to jobs on platforms like Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter in one click. Its website also lists referral emails to employees, an application tracking dashboard and a separate AI cover letter generator.

The short answer

  • Choose Applier if you want applications sent on employers' own sites while your computer is off, and the hiring team emailed from your Gmail.
  • Choose LazyApply if you'd rather run a Chrome extension that applies on platforms such as Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter, and want a free AI cover letter generator.

Why pick Applier over LazyApply

  • Applier runs on its own servers, so there is nothing to install and it keeps applying while your computer is off. LazyApply is a Chrome extension.
  • Your applications go in on the employer's own application form or applicant tracking system, not a job board's apply button. LazyApply's homepage names platforms such as Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter.
  • Every application gets a resume tailored to the job ad's wording and a new cover letter. LazyApply's website doesn't say its auto-apply tool does either.
  • After each application, Applier emails 1 to 3 people on the hiring team from your Gmail and follows up 3 and 7 business days later. LazyApply's website describes referral emails to relevant employees and doesn't mention hiring-manager emails.
  • In Review mode, you approve each application before it's sent; Hybrid and Auto apply on their own. LazyApply's website doesn't say whether you can approve each application first.

It applies on the employer's own site, whatever it uses

  • Applier applies on the employer's own application form, whatever system the company uses: Workday, Greenhouse, Lever or its own careers page. It isn't tied to a list of supported systems.
  • It never signs in to your LinkedIn, Indeed or other job-board accounts. Applications go to the employer directly, not through the board.
  • There's no browser extension to install. Applier runs on its own servers and never needs access to your browser, so it keeps applying while your computer is off.

When LazyApply may suit you better

  • LazyApply's homepage says it applies across several platforms, naming Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter.
  • Its Indeed page lists filters for number of jobs, remote only, salary range and date posted.
  • Its free AI cover letter generator, 5 letters a day according to its page, also works on its own.
  • It includes a dashboard for applications and referral emails, plus a free remote job search.

How LazyApply works

LazyApply is installed as a Chrome extension; its install page says that once it's added, it opens a dashboard where you log in. You create a profile and resume in LazyApply, and its Indeed page says you pick filters such as job title, location, salary and remote, then click Start applying. Its homepage says an AI agent called Job GPT fills in applications from your information and applies on platforms like Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter. It also describes referral emails sent to relevant employees and a dashboard for tracking applications.

How Applier works

Applier is an AI job application service. It finds open roles that match your profile, tailors your resume and cover letter to each one, submits the application on the employer's site, then emails the hiring manager from your Gmail. See how Applier works, including what still needs you.

New members can try Applier free for 7 days, and the first paid month is backed by an interview guarantee.

It also gives you an interview pack for each submitted application, an Inbox that labels employer email, Answers to check, and a daily email when something needs you. See every Applier feature.

What still needs you

  • Applier fills in answers you haven't given and lists them under Answers to check, so you can confirm or correct each one.
  • In Review mode, you approve each job before Applier applies. In Hybrid and Auto, Applier applies on its own.
  • Some applications can't be finished; these show as Failed in your dashboard.
