7. Data Retention, Deletion Schedule & Portability
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by statutory recordkeeping obligations:
A. Account Deletion & 30-Day Grace Period
When you delete your account under Account → Your data or ask support to delete it, your account is disabled and automation is stopped.
The account enters a 30-day grace period. If you do not request reactivation during this period, your account information is scheduled for permanent deletion, subject to statutory retention requirements. This includes:
- Stored messages and attachments associated with your application mailbox;
- Your application mailbox assignment;
- Your application documents, evidence, and stored answers; and
- Your profile, saved sign-up answers, stored credentials, and other associated account records.
B. Other Retention Periods
- Application Session Records: Recordings are retained for ninety (90) days for operational audit, after which they are permanently deleted;
- Document Backups: Secondary document backups follow a ninety (90) day recovery lifecycle before permanent expiration; and
- Free Trial Records: To allow one free trial per person, we keep one-way hashes of the email address, phone number and LinkedIn profile used for a trial, and the trial's dates, including after account deletion.
C. Account Data Export & Portability
In accordance with applicable privacy laws, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used electronic format. You may obtain your account, application, document, and communication information through the Service or by contacting support. Credentials and passwords are excluded for security reasons.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have specific legal rights regarding your personal information:
- Access & Correction: You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you and to request correction of inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete data;

- Restriction & Objection: You may request that we restrict processing of your data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Opt-Out of Communications: You may pause hiring-manager outreach or unsubscribe from email notifications at any time via your account settings, and stop sign-up reminders with the unsubscribe link in any reminder email or the Reminders switch in your notification settings; and
- Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against you, deny you services, or charge different rates because you exercised any of your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please email our Privacy Officer at [email protected]. We will respond within thirty (30) calendar days (or within legal deadlines applicable in your jurisdiction).
9. Cookies & Browser Storage
Applier uses essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, protect the Service, and remember your preferences.
How you found Applier
When you first open one of our public pages or the sign-up pages, Applier stores a first-party cookie (applier_src) for up to 90 days. It records the website or app that sent you (for example X, LinkedIn or Instagram), the campaign tags in the link and the names of any ad-click parameters it carried (not their values), a creator or referral code if the link had one, and the first page you opened. If you then create an account, we save this with your account so we can see which channels bring people to Applier. Only Applier uses it: we do not send it to advertising platforms, and it is deleted with your account. You can remove the cookie through your browser's cookie controls.
Google tag
We also use the Google tag for Google Ads conversion measurement on our public pages and in the sign-up flow. It tells us which ads lead to sign-ups, free-trial starts and purchases. On these pages Google sets advertising cookies (including _gcl_au and related _gcl_* cookies). When you arrive from an ad, Google receives the ad click ID and the page URL, a free-trial start receives an order ID (the checkout reference) with a value of zero, and for a completed purchase it receives the purchase value and an order ID. When a free trial becomes a paid subscription, our servers make the ad click ID, the conversion time, the value and an order ID available to Google Ads.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, these advertising and analytics cookies are turned off. You can refuse or remove these cookies through your browser's cookie controls, and you can manage the ads Google shows you through Google's My Ad Center.
Meta Pixel and Conversions API
On our public website pages and on the sign-up, sign-in and onboarding pages, Applier uses the Meta Pixel, and from our servers the Meta Conversions API, to measure and optimize our advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). We do not use them inside the signed-in dashboard or operator pages.
Meta receives:
- Page views of those pages;
- Five events: account registration, starting checkout, starting a free trial, a qualified free trial, and a purchase (a paid subscription, including a free trial becoming a paid subscription, or an application pack), including the purchase amount and currency. A qualified free trial is sent only when the minimum salary you entered is at or above the line we advertise for (for example US$80,000 a year); it tells Meta yes, never the amount;
- A SHA-256 hashed copy of your email address and a hashed copy of your Applier account ID;
- Your IP address and browser user agent; and
- Meta's own cookie identifiers (
_fbpand_fbc), set by the pixel when it loads.
Apart from that yes for a qualified free trial, we do not send your onboarding answers, resume or document contents, name, phone number, salary, work authorization or other sensitive answers to Meta. Meta processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy, may match it to Meta accounts, and may process it outside Australia.
Opting out: if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Meta Pixel and we do not send any Conversions API events for your visit. You can also block the pixel with your browser's tracking protection or an extension, or adjust your ad preferences in your Meta account settings.
Reddit Pixel
On the same pages, Applier uses the Reddit Pixel to measure and optimize our advertising on Reddit. We do not use it inside the signed-in dashboard or operator pages.
Reddit receives:
- Page views of those pages;
- Four events: starting the sign-up questionnaire, account registration, starting a free trial (sent as a zero-value purchase), and a paid purchase including when a free trial becomes paid, including the purchase amount and currency;
- Your IP address and browser user agent; and
- Reddit's own cookie identifiers (
_rdt_uuid, and_rdt_cidwhen you arrive from a Reddit ad), set by the pixel when it loads.
When a free trial becomes a paid subscription, our servers send that purchase through the Reddit Conversions API with Reddit's cookie identifiers, your IP address and your browser user agent. We never send your email address to Reddit.
We do not send your email address, onboarding answers, resume or document contents, name, phone number, salary, work authorization or other sensitive answers to Reddit. Reddit processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy and may process it outside Australia.
Opting out: if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Reddit Pixel for your visit. You can also block the pixel with your browser's tracking protection or an extension, or adjust your ad preferences in your Reddit account settings.
We do not sell personal information.
10. Complaints & Regulatory Escalation
If you have a concern or complaint regarding our compliance with privacy laws, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can investigate and address your concern.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant privacy regulator, including the privacy regulator in Australia.
